Alisma   (Rhizoma Alismatis)

Bladder, and to the Spleen and Stomach as well. It is an excellent herb to use in a tonic program by those who
need to stimulate fluid function, so long as you do not have a cold constitution.

Astragalus
One of the most important herbs in the world, Astragalus has been recognized as a superb and potent
immune system tonic by modern researchers. Astragalus has been used for over 2000 years to strengthen

Morinda (Morindae officinalis)
Morinda is often used to increase sexual strength in men and women. It is used for impotence, premature

Tuberous roots to 3 feet long, cylindrical or flabellate, deep in ground, stems long, climbing, twining clockwise,
slightly angled, bearing small axillary tubers late in the season; leaves opposite, ovate, broadened into two
lobes at base; fruit broader than long, seeds encircled by wing. Widely cultivated in Asia for food, grown
primarily as an ornamental in the US.

Poria Cortex
Poria is very widely used in Chinese herbalism. It is traditionally used as a Qi tonic to benefit the internal
organs. It is a solid fungus which grows on the roots of old pine trees. It is mildly diuretic and sedative, and is
considered to be highly nourishing. It is a mild Shen tonic. Poria has significant immune enhancing ability,
similar to the other mushrooms in the tonic class.

Rehmannia Root
Fresh Rehmannia is used in formulas that require yin-tonifying benefits of Rehmannia but also require a
cooling or anti-inflammatory effect. Fresh Rehmannia is often used in cases where a person is experiencing
such warming symptoms as hot flashes.
